The biggest jump in Covid hospitalizations in five months reported in latest Andalucía update
The latest Covid update, published on July 13 by the regional government, reports 2,906 new Covid cases in the Andalucía region in the past 24 hours.
This figure is the highest registered in a 24-hour period since February 12, when the regional authorities reported 3,097 cases.
The cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants in the past 14 days continues to rise in the Andalucía region and is now 298.1; almost 20 points higher than the previous figure reported on July 12 (277.87).
Andalucía currently has one of the highest incidence rates in the country and shows no signs of dropping out of the extreme risk zone, defined by the government as an incidence rate of over 250.

Hospitalizations: the number of patients hospitalized with Covid in the region is increasing at an alarming rate and has risen by 88 in just 24 hours, which is the biggest climb in the past five months.
These new hospital admissions mean that there are now 633 coronavirus patients in the region, of whom 122 are in intensive care.
On the other hand, 560 people have recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of people that have survived Covid in Andalucía to 596,481.
Málaga is the province with the highest number of hospitalizations (190, with 23 in intensive care), while Sevilla has the highest number of people in critical condition, with 36 out of 114 patients in intensive care.
Fatalities: the number of deaths reported in the latest update is five, which is four more than the previous day (July 12). The provinces of Cádiz, Granada, Jaén, Málaga and Sevilla each reported one fatality, bringing the total number of deaths to 10,248 since March 2020.
Vaccines in the Andalucía region:
In the past 24 hours, 104,768 Covid vaccines have been administered in the region, where 59 per cent of the population has received at least one vaccine and 48 per cent have been fully inoculated.
Of the nearly nine million vaccines which have been administered in Andalucía, 70.51 per cent were of the Pfizer variety.
