There are 31 fewer patients hospitalised since yesterday, while ICU patients are down to their lowest level since mid-December
14-day incidence rate in Andalucía since March 2020
Although the number of people hospitalised with coronavirus in Andalucía rose on Wednesday, the general trend has been towards fewer hospitalisations. And ICU admissions are faring particularly well, with just 124 patients in intensive care across the whole region, which is one of the biggest and most populated in the whole of Spain.
New infections
Andalucía has registered this Friday March 4 a total of 2,809 new positive cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, 352 more than on Thursday.
The 2,809 infections are registered after 2,457 on Thursday, 746 on Wednesday, 1,128 on Tuesday, 4,448 on Monday (72 hours) and 2,693 last Friday.
By provinces, Malaga is the one with the most infections with 632, followed by Seville with 497, Cadiz with 483, Granada and Almeria with 267, Jaen with 229, Córdoba with 218 and Huelva with 216.
Cumulative incidence rate
According to the data provided by the Regional Ministry of Health and Families in its daily communiqué on Covid, the 14-day cumulative incidence rate in the Andalusian community stands at 208.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, which is 4.2 points lower than on Thursday.
Hospitalisations
There was a drop of 31 patients hospitalised by coronavirus compared to the last count, down to a total of 713, while ICU admissions fell by four to 95 people, the lowest figure since December 14 (93).
The number of hospitalised patients fell by 31 on Friday after falling by 36 on Thursday, rising by 24 on Wednesday (48 hours), falling by 94 on Monday, falling by 48 on Saturday and by 22 last Friday when there were 898 hospitalised Covid patients.
In the case of ICU patients, they fell by four on Friday, by five on Thursday, by four on Wednesday, by three on Monday, by 13 on Saturday and by two on Friday, when there were 124 people in intensive care units.
Deaths
The region has unfortunately seen 30 additional deaths from Covid, 13 more than the previous day, and the highest number in a week.
Of these, eleven fatalities were recorded in Seville, five in Jaén, four in Málaga, three in Córdoba and Granada, two in Cádiz and one each in Almería and Huelva.
Vaccinations
There are now 7,239,261 people fully vaccinated in Andalucía (85.4% of the population over 5 years of age) and 7,564,376 people who have had at least one vaccine jab (89.3% of the population).
